Habits, spaces & mental clutter
So now spring has truly sprung, it's time for a spring clean!
Spring carries a natural invitation to reset. Not to be dramatic, but you may be due a mini life overhaul. But let's do it in a gentle, honest way. Take a moment to look around at your routines and ask:
What still fits?
What feels heavy?
What needs simplifying?
Basically it's Brain Dump Season!
In this, productivity stops being about doing more, and more about removing what no longer supports you. So in that vein, here are 4 simple steps to help you spring clean your routine.
1. Clean Your Physical Space
Your environment shapes your focus. Cleaning your physical space can be the spark in a new season of productivity. Here are some ways you can start small:
Clear your desk completely and only return what you actually use
Tidy your bag and remove unnecessary items
Reset your planner or workspace
You don’t need a full home transformation. Just create one calm corner that supports clarity.
2. Audit Your Habits
Not every habit needs to come with you into the next season. In order for habits to be useful, keep habits that support you and release what drains you. If you haven't done this before, start by asking yourself so of these question:
Which habits feel aligned?
Which ones feel forced?
What am I maintaining out of guilt rather than growth?
3. Clear Mental Clutter
Spend some time on developing mental clarity. Clarity often comes from seeing everything in one place, and often that's once it’s on paper! Sometimes the most important clean-up happens internally. So take a moment and write down:
Lingering tasks
Open loops
Conversations you’ve been avoiding
Goals you’re unsure about
4. Refresh Your Routine
Instead of building a brand-new routine, refine your current one. Small adjustments can shift your entire season so have a think about how you can:
Move your workout to a different time
Add a 10-minute planning session daily or weekly to plan things out in advance
Remove a commitment that feels overwhelming
The Gentle Reminder
Spring cleaning your life isn’t about becoming someone new, it’s about creating space for who you’re becoming. Less clutter, less noise, less pressure, more intention!
